lacking clarity or creativity? open this

Feeling like you're just 'over' content creation? Let's chat about what's happening

If you are struggling with finding the energy to create content for your business, or aren't sure what to even post, there are a few things that could be happening (recognizing that life and world events can also be causing a slow down of course. Unfortunately, I don't have a fix for that, but I acknowledge it so you don't feel alone.)

Here's what could be going on in your business and how to fix it:

1) You are lacking clarity

2) You're burning out

3) You need a creativity boost

If you are lacking clarity...

This means you may need to review your strategy, assess your business goals, and make a plan (with action steps) to move your content, and business growth, along.

If you are worried about burning out...

I have found that when I don't want to do something, it's usually not because I can't, it's because the resistance I'm feeling is a sign of my own wellbeing.

It's time for a break. I don't have any official burn out resources, but from experience, I can tell you that you need to build in a bit of rest, reflection, and reduction until you feel well enough to create. So take some pressure off, and seek any help you feel you need.

If you need more creativity...

Try something new. Maybe you are just bored with the same old Instagram posts, or podcast episodes you've been creating. Don't stress about trends right now, just find something that feels like a passion project. Start a mini project for your business - a challenge, a 3-day event, a quick Q and A open house for your audience, something to get you out of the rut.

Are you struggling with creating content? Maybe one of these solutions can help!

I built and painted a blanket ladder from scratch this weekend. And no, this isn't a metaphor for something business related. Literally. Drilled, glued, painted. A blanket ladder. Proof: Okay fine. There's a business lesson here. Honestly, one of the best things I do for my business is step away from it. When you are thinking about content constantly, and spending more time forcing your next post or topic for your podcast or newsletter, you end up feeling more stressed, more overwhelmed and...

Should we talk about the fact that it's November and October disappeared so quickly we can hardly believe it? Maybe? The past many weeks have been hectic around here, filled with baseball, business and bon bons (I wanted to mention Halloween but keep up with the alliteration). I have been attending many events and as a content strategist, nothing gives me better data about what is happening on the ground for small business owners than being in person. We can scroll through Threads and our...

When I stepped into 2025, I choose 'gentleness' as my word of the year. And that guiding principle has been quite consistent. Sure, there are always unexpected life stresses and business ups and downs thrown at me, but that gentleness as a pilot has proven quite useful. In that calmness that I tried to build this year, something unexpected happened. A spark. A desire for something new, and yet familiar. Maybe something more? It was like when we switch wardrobes from the summer and into the...
