repeat, reuse, repurpose

Reusing the same post? Can you do that? Yes.

In my latest podcast episode, I shared ways to reuse and repurpose your content to save you time this summer and any time of the year.

Last week's newsletter? It was repurposed content from a social media post.

We are in creation mode too often and we are feeling overwhelmed because of it.

If you are tired of having to come up with your next post from scratch, turn to your existing content instead.

What's that look like? Here are some ways to reuse content:

πŸ“ Search your newsletters for a topic or season and copy and rewrite (as needed) an older newsletter. Maybe last summer you sent one that is still relevant. Use it.

πŸ“ Look at your Instagram Insights and see the post with the most reach, or the most clicks to your site in the past year. Reshare that (change the image and copy as you feel is needed to keep it updated and fresh.)

πŸ“ Take a series of blog posts and make a new post with a round-up, or share recent posts in your newsletter to remind people about them.

πŸ“ Reupload one of your older podcast episodes that was popular or relevant - record a quick intro to it to explain why you are resharing.

There are many ways to repurpose content.

A reminder: Don't stress about repeating yourself. People need to hear your message over and over again to be reminded of it. Or, perhaps when they first heard it, they weren't ready to take action.

How are you reusing your content this summer to save you time and stress?

I built and painted a blanket ladder from scratch this weekend. And no, this isn't a metaphor for something business related. Literally. Drilled, glued, painted. A blanket ladder. Proof: Okay fine. There's a business lesson here. Honestly, one of the best things I do for my business is step away from it. When you are thinking about content constantly, and spending more time forcing your next post or topic for your podcast or newsletter, you end up feeling more stressed, more overwhelmed and...

Should we talk about the fact that it's November and October disappeared so quickly we can hardly believe it? Maybe? The past many weeks have been hectic around here, filled with baseball, business and bon bons (I wanted to mention Halloween but keep up with the alliteration). I have been attending many events and as a content strategist, nothing gives me better data about what is happening on the ground for small business owners than being in person. We can scroll through Threads and our...

When I stepped into 2025, I choose 'gentleness' as my word of the year. And that guiding principle has been quite consistent. Sure, there are always unexpected life stresses and business ups and downs thrown at me, but that gentleness as a pilot has proven quite useful. In that calmness that I tried to build this year, something unexpected happened. A spark. A desire for something new, and yet familiar. Maybe something more? It was like when we switch wardrobes from the summer and into the...
